Reading Notes: Canterbury Tales, Part B

The Priest Who Became a Philosopher
  • Can you be a priest without a church?
  • Why would someone pretend to be a canon?
  • What is his end goal with the silver trick? To steal silver from this priest?
  • The priest should be wary once this man tells him no one can be present for the trick.
  • Is a philosopher something different in this time? He sounds more like a proclaimed sorcerer or something
  • Oh so he was trying to get the priest today for the trick
  • Thats a very disappointing ending. I figured the priest would get one justice, or the canon would get what he deserved, but he just won in the end and the priest was out forty pounds
